Earth Day 2022

Earth Day 2022

On April 22, 1970, millions of Americans held rallies and festivals across the nation as they demonstrated for a healthy and sustainable environment. This day would now be known as Earth Day.

Wisconsin Governor Gaylord Nelson, whom we now know as the father of Earth Day was elected to the US Senate in 1962 on the platform of bringing environmental issues to the national stage.

The first Earth Day was a worldwide celebration of the planet, which later influenced the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and numerous laws that protect our environment.

PELA GeoEnvironmental is proud to have worked with numerous industries to address these regulatory issues, assess conditions, and develop and implement solutions to protect our planet.
