PELA GeoEnvironmental personnel have decades of experience collecting and analyzing surface water data throughout the United States.
This experience includes:
  • The design, construction and instrumentation of surface water gages and monitoring stations
  • Stream gaging (discharge measurements)
  • Development of rating curves
  • Statistical analysis of hydraulic data
  • Flood plain mapping
  • Basin (watershed) analysis and modeling.
Some examples of PELA’s projects include:
  • picGeophysical and hydrological investigations for dam leakage and the expansion of the water supply impoundment for the city of Crossville, TN
  • As part of a larger hydrogeologic investigation PELA instrumented, collected and analyzed surface water data to characterize a watershed which was recharging a large karst aquifer
  • An investigation for a rural property owner to document continuing, long-term bank erosion resulting from high-flow dam releases below a TVA impoundment in East Tennessee
  • A study to determine methods to reduce salt intrusion in the Red River of Texas and Oklahoma
