BROWNFIELDS
Brownfields are properties that were previously developed and have a known or perceived environmental problem associated with them. As a result, these sites have been passed over for redevelopment because developers and businesses did not want to deal with the environmental problems.
To encourage the redevelopment of brownfield properties, the EPA’s Brownfield Program provides incentives, grants, and liability exclusions for these properties.
PELA’s professionals are qualified and experienced to handle all phases of assessment and remediation of brownfield sites. Our firm was the environmental consultant for a closed facility in South Alabama that was the first industrial facility to receive a No Further Action status from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) using the Risk Based Corrective Action program guidance.
Whether the property is a small petroleum contaminated site, a current or former drycleaner, or a large industrial facility, PELA can effectively and efficiently assist with the necessary environmental services.
Our knowledge of the regulations and experience in environmental assessments and cleanups can help make your brownfield project a success.
