"To whom much is given, much will be required…"
PELA GeoEnvironmental believes strongly in supporting our local community. Individual professionals each have their own charity work to which they are dedicated, whether it is to their church, disaster relief, the elderly, or for the disabled.
As a company, PELA is a sponsor in the Adopt-A-School program in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Our adopted school is Rock Quarry Elementary School. Our goal is to introduce children to environmental science at a young age and to assist in the promotion of various academic and fundraising programs.
PELA staff can be found giving presentations, providing job shadowing opportunities, and judging competitions, such as the annual spelling bee, at Rock Quarry.
Partnership with RHYMA
PELA GeoEnvironmental is proud to be a partner of RHYMA, the University of Malaga's Master in Water Resources and Environment program. This partnership is facilitated through the International Hydogeological Program of UNESCO. Through this partnership, PELA provides internships to RHYMA students and has benefited through continuing education lectures from RHYMA professors such as Dr. Bartolome Andreo Navarro.
Previous PELA RHYMA interns have gone on to work for the European Topic Center for Spatial Information and Analysis; government agencies; and begin their own consulting firms.
